Cosmo World
Review by J.W
Even though I’ve only been there once, I had the best time of my life. Cosmo World is definitely a place you have to visit when vacationing/living in Japan, and today is the perfect day! Unless it’s thundering, raining, a Thursday, snowing, hailing, lightning-ing, cloudy outside, tornados, twisters, [skip to the next paragraph to continue interview] ice storming, too foggy, really icy; but if its a sunny day, you should go!
I first noticed this place while on a field trip in 3rd grade to Cupnoodles Museum (you should go there, too!). The time I actually went there though is when my neighbors took me. I was really excited, being in this country for more than four years. Yes, four whole years without going to an amusement park. Imagine my pain!
When you get there (directions are at the end), you will notice the colossal lack of parking. No need to worry! Parking Mania Girl is here! Actually, the mall across the street-that is GIGANTIC- has plenty of room to house your car. Just remember where you park, or write it down even, so you don’t get lost. It is a literal maze down there.
After finding a place to park, enter Cosmo World. By the way, there is no entrance fee, but the rides costs money, differing. To the left a few hundred yards are the ticket booths. Purchasing a ticket allows easier access to get on rides. The best deal is paying ¥2700 for ¥3500 worth of rides.
If you choose not to buy tickets (I’m not exactly positive if this works), just give the employees the price for the ride you wish to ride. if you do buy tickets, do the same; give it to the employer. They will scan it, take away the money needed to access the ride (only once), and give it back to you. Imprinted on it is the money you know have left over on your ticket.
Enjoy the rides until you are all out of money! My personal favorite is Cosmo Vanish, a dive roller coaster. And make sure to eat the ice cream at the stand near the very-small-for-an-amusement-park entrance. In that order please, you do NOT want to puke all over yourself in the dark!
Extra Attractions: Across the street in the mall, there is McDonald’s, Krispy Kreme, and many more, if you get hungry, just stop by!
Train: Yokohama Cosmo World is within walking distance of several train stations, including Minato Mirai Station (Minato Mirai Line), Sakuragicho Station (JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, JR Negishi Line, and Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line) and Bashamichi Station (Minato Mirai Line). Simply exit any of these stations and look for the giant Ferris wheel - it's hard to miss. (The amusement park is closed on Thursdays.)

From Yokosuka Naval Base, it is about 40 km, and around 30 minutes to an hour. But there are tolls, so bring at least ¥2000 for a round trip.

Fuji Q
Review by J. H. (Inghram)
Do you like breath taking views, or adrenaline bursting roller coasters? Well, then you should visit Fuji Q. It contains some of the world's fastest and steepest roller coasters. It’s a trip you’ll never forget.I chose Fuji Q because my dad and I have a craze for roller coasters.Anywhere we go, we try to look for the best roller coasters to ride.
Something that's really cool about fuji Q is that each roller coaster has it’s own mascot that looks like a Power Ranger, probably to attract kids. My favorite ride in the park is Dodonpa. Dodonpa is the fastest ride in the park, reaching a top speed of 111 mph in an amazing 1.8sec.The ride is so fast that when it’s launched , it sounds like a cannon is being shot out. This park is mostly roller coasters so you can spend all day trying one after the other until you find your favorite.
It takes about 2 hours to get to Fuji Q from the base by car or bus.You can watch for tours by the Teen Center or the ITT that will take you there and get your ticket for you.It costs about $60.You’ll want to bring extra Yen to buy food, drinks and snacks. The snacks you get there remind you of the carnival, including crapes, churros donuts, etc. My favorite thing to get there is the Turkish Kebab.A kebab is Pita bread filled with different kinds of meats and sauces.
When you're here in Japan don't just visit Disneyland or Round 1 because neither of those parks have record breaking roller coasters . Visit Fuji Q, a place most people aren't familiar with, so you can brag to your friends about the thrills or delicious snacks that you enjoyed while exploring the park.
A tip that I would give to people before going to Fuji Q would be to check the weather in Fuji before you travel up there. The weather in Fuji could be different than in Yokosuka because Fuji is located in higher elevations. When it rains at Fuji Q, almost all the outdoor rides close making it frustrating knowing you’ve paid so much money for a rainout.Believe me Id’ve learned the hard way.

Fun Fuji-Q
Review by A. R. (Greer)
Hi, I’m here to give you the full explanation of Fuji-Q. Fuji-Q is a good place to face your fear of heights! Because Fuji-Q has some of the B.E.S.T roller coasters I know. I wanted to come again to show you how awesome it is. Food, games, and awesome rides await you!
Fuji-Q is best to go with a little amount of people because with less people, there won’t be as much people to lose, and just enough people to have the perfect fun! In Fuji-Q, you’ll find assortments of rides, such as Roller Coasters, Bumper Cars, and Ferris Wheels.
My favorite roller coaster is called Fujiyama. The roller coaster is so fast, and so scary, that I had to love it, and I hope you will too. And The Haunted Hospital, I could lie that I wasn’t scared, but I want to prepare you for what scary things are in store for you because I didn’t want to go to sleep for 2 days! By the way, some rides are so extreme that you might lose your shoes! That’s why some rides require you to take off your glasses and shoes.
They have tons of restaurants, but my favorite place is Pizza-la. It may not have a lot of room, but eating outside may as well be just as fun! The pizza is the first thing you want to eat, because it’s nice and cheesy and so good!
Last thing before I go, the restrooms are located on the map, but it’s a 50% chance that you’ll be in a close distance to a bathroom or a portapotty. But if you come across a restaurant, they might have a bathroom somewhere in the back. And also, don’t ride any rides for about an hour after eating, because the rides are so wild, they might make you throw up!
Well, I hope that this gives you enough information to help you have a wonderful time at Fuji-Q!

Where Your Dreams Come True
Review by M. J. (Greer)
Imagine this: the most happiest place on earth, where all your dreams come true. Exciting adventures throughout the whole amusement park never fades. There’s no need to be scared of the dark in Disneyland, the heartwarming parades with dazzling lights are coming through the street as the Disney music plays. Children wearing their favorite Disney princess’ dress sing along. Mickey Mouse is on the float, waving happily to the crowds of people. Once you’ve arrived, your worth while trip will last forever!
Although Tokyo Disney might be smaller than the American disney, you have an opportunity to experience the different restaurants such as the Hungry Bear restaurant with delicious curry. The World Bazaar consists of many souvenir shops and restaurants. Buy a keychain to give a flashback of the time you met Minnie Mouse. There might not be the Alice in Wonderland ride but there’s a Queen of Hearts restaurant! Although Tokyo disney can be different from the American disney, everyone will enjoy the joy that is being brought to them!
The first thing everyone notices in Disneyland is the numerous amounts of people who are wearing disney accessories! From Minnie Mouse headbands to Chip and Dale onesies! I was greeted by the World Bazaar where I munched on french fries. First, I rode the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The damp, moist air ruled the world. Firing gun shots of the pirates caught my attention. The architectures of the characters in the ride looked so realistic! The “It’s a Small World” ride was one of my favorites. The festive music welcomed me in every room. There were colorful walls and doll-like structures wore traditional clothing. It was exciting to venture through different rooms with a variety of nations and their culture. I was very excited to ride the Space Mountain ride because I love roller coasters! The ride took place in a dark room with lights. Space Mountain is a fast speeding roller coaster that caused me to scream at the top of my lungs. From time to time my stomach growled! Luckily, there were food stands scattered all around the park. The fresh cooked popcorn and the sugary taste of the vanilla churros made my mouth water. I visited The Disney Gallery with exhibiting original disney artwork. Realistic drawings of Cinderella were eye catching! This once-in-a-lifetime experience was phenomenal!
From Tomorrowland, where you’ll meet Buzz Lightyear, to Fantasyland where you’ll meet the disney princesses! Every part of the theme park will give you its own adventure! Such as, Adventure Land!
The magical shows and parades bring in a huge way of joy. This is why you’ll need to bring a camera to record these special moments. I’m sure that the gift shop will overfill your bag, so make sure you bring a medium-sized bag. To bring in the Disney spirit, wear disney accessories/clothing or you can even buy some at the souvenir store! Speaking of stores, you’ll need to bring at least 5000 yen for food and stores. Many fun events awaits so plan and organize your day. Most importantly, bring a family member or a friend to spend your fantastic day with!
I recommend to buy your tickets at the MWR. After all, you won’t have to pay for tolls! Depart at 7:30 AM from behind Starbucks and Taco Bell (Yokosuka Base) and arrive at Disneyland at 9:00 AM. Depart Disneyland at (;15 PM and arrive back at about 10:30 to Yokosuka Base.
You’ll be very anxious and want to come back at Disneyland. All the phenomenal rides take you to another world with its own story. The Dream Lights parade will end your day with a shock wave of love. Every bit of your stay will never be a waste. You’ll look back at your visit and eulogize every moment of it. Minnie and Mickey are waiting for you. Make your visit last!

FANTASTIC FUJI-Q Review by A. K. (Greer)
You look over the magnificent rollercoaster and see the symbol that represents Japan, the shining Mt.Fuji.
Fuji-Q is so amazing and very, very close to Fuji. It’s not just about Fuji it's more about roller coasters and swings that are so much fun. For all those roller coaster lovers, you can see all the rides from the parking lot as soon as you get there you can see all the rides. There’s also activities for little kids so your parents can't say your little brother/sister won't have anything to do but they will, you can trust me on that.
I know what you're thinking. It's just going to be like every other amusement park, but you’re wrong. There’s so many strange roller coasters, like ones that shoot you out like a cork out of a champagne bottle, a ride that twirls you while you ride the roller coaster, It might it sound strange but there’s a ride called “Pizza-la” this one is my Favorite , you spin as they swing you back and forth as high as the clouds. There’s also a ride that looks like you can reach out and touch the glistening Mt.Fuji.The last ride is a ride that you have to pedal in order for it to move, my mom made me pedal while she took pictures.
Theres also some things you may need to know. First off you might want to wear closed toed shoes because when my sister went, her flip flop hit a man straight in the face when she rode some of the rides. Secondly, it’s probably better to go in the spring time because some of the rides go really high up, so in the winter it gets really cold. Although, if you like ice skating and don’t mind the cold you can go ice skating at Fuji-Q! They turn the paddle boats into an ice skating rink, it’s awesome. There is also a giant ferris wheel where you can get a cart where the bottom is transparent and is in the shape of a heart .
You can go to ITT to get tickets and you can go with other military families on a bus. You most likely want to go to ITT because it is extremely hard to drive there if you have never been there before. It is also difficult to take the train. In case you don’t know, ITT is next to Starbucks or across the street from the NEX/ Dunkin Donuts.
There is so much fun activities to do, that it takes a whole day (maybe more if you ride things more than once) to experience each and everyone of them. You won’t experience anything like it anywhere else in the world. It's an experience you’ll never forget.

The Quirky Yunessun
Review by N. A. (Inghram)
No one likes cold! So why not take a break from this weather and head over to the Yunessun spa, where you’re guaranteed warmth. With their amazing, soothing colored pools that won't disappoint if you wanna warm up. Doesn’t that sound AWESOME? Yes? Then lets go to the Yunessun!
Right when walk inside the Yunessun, you will be asked to take off your shoes. When you go to the payment desk, you will get a bracelet that will have your locker number on it. The bracelet is the key to your locker. You have to swipe it on the scanner of the locker to get it open. After you're done, you can finally walk out where all the pools are. Welcome to the Yunessun world!
At the Yunessun there are a lot of different kinds of pools. Even though it looks like something good to drink, doesn’t mean you should drink them. There is a green tea pool, hot coffee pool, wine pool, chocolate pool, and more! Before you step into the pools, you should be really cautious about the heat.
One of the most popular pools, is the pool with the slides on it. The slides are grey and they kind of look like the rocks. There are three slides attached to each other, so it makes it really easy to race with your friends or family members. The pool that you slide into is regular water that is fairly warm.
