Kamakura
Review by BG
Two weeks ago, my family and I went to Kamakura, a place with lots of historical temples and the famous Buddha. We got on a JR train at Higashi Zushi station and rode it for five minutes to get to Kamakura station. If you go to Kamakura on a national holiday, the station would be swarming with people. The second you get out of the station, there are buses lined up everywhere, with people going on and off them. Behind all of the buses, you can see a red Japanese torii gate with the words “Komachi Dori” on it. This is the starting point of main street.
We started walking towards the entrance, which if you got closer to the smell of freshly baked bread and the sweet smells of cookies get stronger each step you take. This street is always crowded with people, of all ages, and stores crammed next to each other. There are also food stalls that sell oden, boiled vegetables, and korokke. We started walking through the crowd of people to get to our favorite stores; they are, a honey store, bean store, and a senbay shop. The smell of the sweet potato korokke was unmissable. Almost the whole time you are walking through the streets, you can smell this; but if you get near the senbay shop, the smell changes to soy sauce. People are always lined up to taste the soy

Kyoto

In this yoko response, I will tell you about my trip to Kyoto, Japan. The first thing I had to do was buy a ticket to ride the train. It was hard for me to buy a ticket because of all the flashing bright lights. I was looking all over the screen until I saw the word English on the screen. When I pressed it everything changed into English, and I was able to buy my ticket. I walked to where I had to wait for my train. When my train finally came, I walked in, and sat down. I had to ride the train for three and a half hours. Finally, the train came to a stop, and I had to get off the train because we have to transfer to another train. The train station I had stopped at was really loud. The people were loud, the machines were loud, and most people dressed differently. I was listening to the person on the speaker very closely. The person tells you which train to get on. When I finally reached the train, I had to ride for an hour and a half. I tried to sleep but the bright lights were getting through my eyelids. When I Finally got to Kyoto, I walked to the destination I wanted to go to, the golden house. On my way there, I could hear the noises from some shops, vending machines, and nature. When I got to the ticket booth, I could see the gold part of the house reflecting into some of the ponds. I walked in, and turned the corner, I saw the beautiful golden house. The sun was making it shine even brighter. It was a beautiful sight to see. I heard all the nature and I walked around for quite a bit. I would rate this place ten of ten because it was such a beautiful sight to see. I was also fun and amazing.

Asakusa

Being able to live in Japan, or just visit, is an amazing opportunity for many people. I can’t say much, because I’ve lived here my entire life, but living here is pretty great. There’s a lot of things to do here that you may not be able to experience in the States. I, personally, would say go to the very top and very bottom of Japan but I know that many people would not want to do that. Japan has many amazing locations and features but if there’s one location that would represent it all, it would be Asakusa.
People may not enjoy Asakusa as much as others but I can assure you, it is an amazing place to visit. It shows people and tourists a large portion of Japan’s culture. One of the most popular tourist attraction there is the Asakusa Shrine. The Asakusa Shrine has a big red Japanese style lantern with a kanji on it. Many people visit this shrine because of the lantern. Also because shrines and temples play a big role in Japanese culture.
Another tourist attraction is the Japanese style theme park called Hanayashiki. It has many Japanese style rides and attractions including a Japanese style haunted house. You pay an admission fee and then pay for each ride you ride. It is a great place to have fun.
Many people do not appreciate the experiences they have while living here but trust me, it is an amazing experience. While you’re here, I recommend visiting many places including Asakusa. You won’t regret it.
